油煙、湯気、湿気、ほこりの多い場所では設置・使用しない
上記のような場所で設置・使用すると、火災や感電の原因となります。取扱説明書
に記されている仕様条件以外の環境での使用は、火災や感電の原因となることがあ

内部に水や異物を入れない
水や異物が入ると火災や感電の原因となります。万一、水や異物が入ったときは、
すぐに接続機器本体の電源を切り、電池を取りはずしてください。電源プラグもコ
ンセントから抜き、ソニー業務用商品相談窓口またはお買い上げ店にご相談くださ

分解や改造をしない
火災や感電、けがの原因となります。内部の点検や修理はソニー業務用商品相談窓
口またはお買い上げ店にご依頼ください。
雷が鳴っているときは使用しない
落雷すると、感電のおそれがあります。雷が鳴りだしたらすぐに使用を中止してく
ださい。

取り扱い上の注意
使用や保管場所について
使用中、保管中にかかわらず、次のような場所に置かないでください。
異常に高温、低温または多湿になる場所
炎天下や熱器具の近く、夏場の窓を閉め切った自動車内は特に高温になり、放置す
ると変形したり、故障したりすることがあります。
激しい振動や強力な磁気のある場所
故障の原因になります。
強力な電波を出す場所や放射線のある場所
正しく記録できないことがあります。
砂地、砂浜などの砂ぼこりの多い場所
砂がかかると故障の原因になるほか、修理できなくなることもあります。
本機の使用について
初めてお使いになるときは、必ずカムコーダーでフォーマットしてからお使いくだ
さい。
以下の場合、データが破損したり本機そのものが使用できなくなることがありま
す。
データの読み込み中、書き込み中に本機を取り外した場合
強い磁気のそばに本機を近づけた場合
使用直後は本機が熱くなっている場合があります。取り扱いには充分ご注意くだ
さい。
本機の持ち運び時や保管時は、付属の専用ケースに入れてください。
専用ケース（イラスト）は、本機を保管・持ち運ぶときに端子部を埃などから保護
することを目的としています。衝撃や圧力から本機を保護する目的ではご使用で
きません。
水にぬらさないでください。
本機表面を強く押さないでください。
端子部に手や金属で触れないでください。
お手入れについて
本機表面のお手入れ
汚れのひどいときは、水やぬるま湯を少し含ませた柔らかい布で軽く拭いたあと、
からぶきします。
本機の表面が変質したり塗装がはげたりすることがあるので、次のことは避けてく
ださい。
シンナー、ベンジン、アルコール、化学ぞうきん、虫除け、殺虫剤、日焼け止めのよ
うな化学薬品類。
上記が手に付いたまま本機を扱う。
ゴムやビニール製品との長時間接触。
専用ケースのお手入れ
表面の汚れは、乾いた柔らかい布などで拭き取ってください。アルコール、ベンジ
ン、シンナーなど揮発性のものや、固い材質のブラシやタワシ類は使用しないでく
ださい。ケースの変質、色落ち、損傷の原因となります。
ケースがぬれたときは、表面の水分を拭き取ってください。
直射日光の当たる場所や、閉め切った自動車内、熱器具などの近くに放置しない
でください。
同じ収納スペースに本機以外のものを一緒に入れると、傷や故障の原因となるこ
とがあります。
記録メディアを廃棄/譲渡するときのご注意
本機をカムコーダーやパソコンと接続して初期化（フォーマット）を行ってもフラッ
シュメモリー内のデータは完全に消去されないことがあります。
本機を譲渡するときは、
HXR-NX5シリーズなどのカムコーダーに接続して、メディア
データ消去を行うことをおすすめします。
また本機を廃棄するときは、本機を物理的に破壊することをおすすめします。
内蔵されたフラッシュメモリーの破壊によって、フラッシュメモリー内のデータの復元
を困難にすることができます。
概要
カムコーダー本体と一体化する構造
本体は小型軽量で、接続ケーブルを使わずにカムコーダー本体に直接装着できま
すので、機動力を生かした撮影が行えます。
電源はカムコーダー本体から供給されます。追加のバッテリーなども不要でかさば
らないうえ、省電力設計により長時間の運用が可能です。
本機をカムコーダー（HXR-NX5シリーズ）と組み合わせて使用すると、カムコーダ
ーの記録開始/停止に連動して本機に映像音声を記録することが可能です。また、
HXR-NX5シリーズではメモリーカードと同時に記録開始 /終了することもできま
す。
本機はカムコーダーに専用インターフェースを介して接続します。

動画の記録可能シーン数は、ハイビジョン画質（HD）で最大3,999 個、標準画質
（SD）で9,999個です。
動画の連続記録可能時間は約13時間です。
HXR-NX5シリーズは撮影シーンに合わせてビットレート（一定時間あたりの記録
データ量）を自動調節するVBR
（Variable Bit Rate）方式を採用しています。その
ため、記録メディアへの記録可能時間は変動します。例えば、動きの速い映像では
記録メディアの容量を多く使って鮮明な画像を記録するため、記録メディアの記録
可能時間は短くなります。

カムコーダーへの接続はカムコーダーの電源を切ってから行ってください。
カムコーダーの電源を入れた状態で接続するとカムコーダーの再起動を要求さ
れます。
カムコーダーからの取り外しはカムコーダーの電源を切ってから行ってください。
電源が入った状態で行うとデータが破損する可能性があります。
その他の機器と接続する
本機で記録した映像は、ノンリニア編集システムのパソコンなどに転送することがで
きます。
パソコンとの接続方法

付属のＵＳＢケーブルで本機とパソコンをつなぐ。（イラスト ）

ＵＳＢバスパワーで電源が供給され、本機のＰＯＷＥＲランプが点灯して動作を始
めます。
ご注意
パソコンへのＵＳＢ接続は、パソコンの電源がＯＮの状態でも行えます。
パソコンからの取り外しは、
Windows/Ｍａｃの取り外し処理をしてから行ってくだ
さい。
Windows/Ｍａｃの取り外し処理なしで取り外した場合は、データが破損する可能
性があります。
HXR-NX5シリーズと本機を接続して記録した映像は、
HXR-NX5シリーズに付属
のソフトウエアを使ってパソコンに取り込むことができます。（ Windowsの場合）
パソコン接続時に下記の操作を行わないでください。これらの操作による結果に
対して、当社は責任を負いかねます。
パソコン接続時にデフラグメンテーションを行わないでください。
パソコンから本機のファイルやフォルダーを操作しないでください。画像ファイ
ルが壊れたり、再生できなくなることがあります。
パソコンから本機の記録メディア上のデータを操作、削除しないでください。
パソコンから本機の記録メディアをフォーマット（初期化）しないでください。正
常に動作しなくなります。
パソコンから本機の記録メディアにファイルをコピーしないでください。

困ったときは
修理に出す前に、もう１度点検してください。それでも正常に動作しないときは、ソニ
ー業務用商品相談窓口またはお買い上げ店にお問い合わせください。
修理に出される場合のご注意
修理内容によっては本機の初期化または交換が必要となることがあります。その
場合、本機内のデータはすべて消去されますので、修理をお受けになる前に本機
内のデータを保存（バックアップ）してください。修理によってデータが消去された
場合の補償については、ご容赦ください。
修理において、不具合症状の発生／改善の確認のために、必要最小限の範囲で本
機内のデータを確認させていただく場合があります。ただし、それらのデータをソ
ニー側で複製／保存することはありません
電源について

Using this unit

Data may be corrupted or this unit itself become unusable in the following cases.

Maintenance
Maintaining the surface of this unit
If the surface of this unit is dirty, clean it with a so cloth lightly moistened with
water and then wipe it with a dry so cloth.
Avoid the following to avoid damage to the nish.
Using chemicals such as thinner, benzine, alcohol, chemical cloths, repellent,
insecticide and sunscreen.
Handling with above substances on your hands.
Leaving the surface of this unit in contact with rubber or vinyl objects for a long
time.
Maintaining the special case
To clean the special case, use a dry, so cloth to wipe away any dirt. Do not use
harsh chemicals (alcohol, benzine, thinner, etc.) or sti brushes, as these may
damage, discolor or degrade the case.
If the case becomes wet, wipe away any excess moisture.
Do not leave the case in direct sunlight, in a closed car or near a heater.
Never store this unit with anything else in the same storage space. Doing so may
damage this unit or cause it to malfunction.
Note on disposing of or transferring recording media
Even if you format this unit with a camcorder or computer, the data may not be
completely deleted from the ash memory. Before transferring this unit to another
person, it is recommended that you perform the “media empty” operation with
this unit connected to a camcorder such as an HXR-NX5 series camcorder. Before
throwing this unit away, it is recommended that you destroy the actual body in
order to prevent data recovery from the ash memory.

Overview
Integrated architecture to the camcorder
e body is small and lightweight and connects directly to a camcorder without a
cable to provide camcorder mobility.
Power is supplied from the camcorder so no additional battery is required; weight
and size have thus been minimized. e power-saving design also enables longer
recording time.
When using this unit with an HXR-NX5 series camcorder, you can start/stop
recording using the camcorder controls to record audio and video onto this unit.
With the HXR-NX5 series, it is also possible to simultaneously start/stop
recording onto a memory card.

You can transfer recorded images on this unit to a nonlinear editing system or
computer.
How to connect to a computer
1 Connect this unit to your computer with the supplied USB cable.

and it starts to work.
Notes
USB connection to your computer can be done even when the computer is
switched on.
To disconnect from your computer, rst do the safe hardware removal process on
your Windows or Mac computer.
If you do not do the Windows/Mac safe hardware removal process rst, data on
the memory media may be corrupted.
Movies recorded with this unit when connected to an HXR-NX5 series camcorder
can be copied to your computer using the soware provided with the camcorder.

Do not do the following operations when this unit is connected to a computer.

Do not perform defragmentation.
Do not use the computer to handle les or folders on this unit. Image les may
become corrupted and unplayable.

Do not use the computer to copy les on the memory media of this unit.

Please check the following before contacting your Sony dealer.
Note in case of repairs
Some kinds of repair work may require that this unit be formatted or replaced. In
either case, all data on this unit will be deleted. Back-up your data from this unit
before sending it for repairs. Sony does not guarantee against data being deleted
during repair work.
During repair work, Sony may perform a minimal check of the data on this
unit in order to verify improvements or the occurrence of defective symptoms.
However, Sony never copies or saves the data.
